SRO registration: ₹5,000 per document + govt charges
Registration at the Sub-Registrar Office
For documents that are not eligible for presence-less registration — such as resale deeds, settlements, partitions, gifts and powers of attorney — we handle the regular registration at the SRO: drafting, guideline value check, stamp duty and fee calculation, the appointment, and the formalities on the day.
Our service charge for SRO registration is ₹5,000 per document. Government stamp duty and registration fees are extra and depend on the type of document and the market value; see the full rate list on our homepage. For example, a sale deed attracts 7% stamp duty and 2% registration fee on the market value, while a settlement in favour of family members attracts 1% (maximum ₹40,000) and 1% (maximum ₹10,000).
Why drafting matters
A poorly worded schedule, a wrong survey number or an unclear recital can cause trouble years later — in a resale, a loan, or a family dispute. We draft to suit the transaction and the registration requirements, and check the details against the title documents before anything is executed.
Need it registered online instead?
Bank MODs, discharges and first sales of plots and flats can be registered without visiting the SRO — see presence-less registration.
